The Italian Embassy in Addis Ababa and the Maison Gattinoni Couture organised a tableau vivant of the Spring/Summer 2020 collection and a historical fashion exhibition dedicated to the “Hollywood divas on the Tiber” to celebrate the fashion week in Ethiopia. This event, which is fast becoming the main fashion event in Ethiopia and East Africa as a whole, aims at becoming an intercultural platform to showcase the work of emerging African designers and artists before a new audience.
It is the first time that the Maison Gattinoni Couture has been appointed Ambassador of Italian fashion in Ethiopia; it presented a “tableau vivant” of the Gattinoni Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2020 collection designed by creative director Guillermo Mariotto at the residence of the Italian Ambassador, Arturo Luzzi. Over 250 guests were given the opportunity to admire a collection of highly elegant evening dresses which have always been the hallmark of Gattinoni’s unmistakable, irreverent style.
The Maison Gattinoni also presented the historical exhibition “Fernanda Gattinoni: Fashion and Stars at the time of Hollywood on the Tiber” at the Hyatt Hotel to highlight the connection between the great couturière and founder of the Gattinoni Maison, Fernanda Gattinoni and the divas of Cinecittà and the Dolce Vita.
