Italian Cuisine Week: Dakar launches a competition between restaurants

The Italian Embassy in Dakar celebrated the Italian Cuisine Week in the World for the fourth year in a row by launching a competition between the city’s Italian restaurants. The three restaurants respectively representing the Emilia Romagna, Lazio and Marche regions, challenged each other in a regional cooking show at the Residence of the Italian Ambassador. At the end of the show, which was crowned with the offer of fresh fruit brought in directly from the Basilicata region, the roughly 150 guests, including journalists, bloggers, importers and big distribution businesses, voted for their favourite dish. The winning recipe was the one from Emilia Romagna. Over the past few years, the number of Italian restaurateurs has sizably increased in Dakar and are now at least ten.
