“Today’s attack against the US Embassy in Ankara is an unacceptable act of violence deserving of the firmest condemnation”, asserted Minister Giulio Terzi as he expressed his “sincerest and deepest condolences to the families of the victims and best wishes for the speedy recovery of the wounded”.
“Faced with such acts of barbarism, we vigorously reconfirm our solidarity and friendship with the peoples and governments of Turkey and the United States, both engaged in a fight against terrorism to which Italy intends to continue to lend its steadfast support”.
“This dramatic episode” the minister concluded, “reminds us that we must keep our guard up high against every form of extremism”.
