High Level Traineeship Programme in the Delegations of the European Union
USEFUL DATES
- Call opening: January 4, 2021

- Compulsory training to take place in Brussels: September 2021
- Start of traineeships in delegations: September/October 2021
The aim of this programme is to enable young graduates with a bachelor’s/master’s degree to gain experience in delegations playing a role in the implementation of EU external relations and development cooperation policies.
Detailed information about the programme and the selection process is available on the website of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
Both the EEAS and the European Commission (DEVCO) fund one position per EU Member State.
Please note that, under penalty of exclusion, applications may be submitted for only one Member State and for only one position among those offered by the EEAS and DEVCO.
For applicants of Italian nationality, applications must be submitted exclusively online on the UNDESA website, following the precise instructions therein.
Applications must be submitted online no later than midnight (Italian time) on January 31, 2021.

JPD – 2021-2023 EDITION
Pre-selection of candidates
The pre-selection process of Italian candidates to be proposed to the EU for the 2021-2023 high-level traineeship programme in the EU Delegations has been completed.
Pre-selected candidates were informed of the result of the pre-selection.
For the “Commission” (COM) position, priority was given to the profile of interest for Italian Cooperation “Health, Education and Gender” in the framework of the Social Affairs sector; for the EEAS position, to the profile “Governance, Rule of Law and Democracy”.
In compliance with the deadline of April 28, 2021, the list of pre-selected applications for the 2 available positions, strictly identified on the basis of the indications and criteria contained in the documents JOIN(2012)17 final, JOIN(2017) 22 final, EEAS DEC(2014) 002, and ADMIN(2017) 8 relating to the programme, was sent to the European Union.
Reiterating that the final selection procedure is carried out under the European Union’s responsibility, please note that the name of the candidate selected for each assignment will be published on this website after recruitment.
