THE #INSIEMEPERGLISDG CAMPAIGN
#InsiemepergliSDG is a campaign promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in partnership with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the European Commission, the UN SDG Action Campaign, the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (CIHEAM Bari) and Save the Children.
The #InsiemepergliSDG initiative supports a process that creates connections and relations between the partners promoting the initiative and local actors so that the best local initiatives may emerge and be valorised. The initiative supports and develops shared paths through training and education, participatory politics, active citizenship, play and creativity. Finally, it also develops partnerships with local actors to promote the campaign messages and foster local involvement.
A key part of the #InsiemepergliSDG campaign are the travelling and interactive installations created in collaboration with partners to educate young audiences and families about the SDGs and the role that each individual can play in their achievement. Through practical examples, the installations provide an innovative way to illustrate how the Italian Cooperation and its international, national and local partners work for a more equitable, sustainable and peaceful planet.
The campaign format provides for numerous activities, which are planned in collaboration with the local partners and include workshops organised by Save the Children Italy to illustrate the SDGs to girls, children, adolescents and schools; extraordinary city councils on the Agenda2030 held in collaboration with local partner organisations; media partnerships both at local and national level; Will Meets organised by the national media partner Will Media in collaboration with municipalities and universities; street-art murals on the Sustainable Development Goals, such as those already created in the cities of Teramo (3 murals) and Cremona (Europe’s largest smog-eating mural) in partnership with the UN SDG Action Campaign.
WILL MEDIA is a national media partner. Local media partnerships are also launched at each stage.
The campaign is part of the broader information strategy implemented by the Italian Directorate General for Development Cooperation to raise awareness among the Italian public, with particular attention to young audiences and families, on the action taken by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to meet the 17 Goals on the 2030 Agenda.
Since 2020, the Campaign has travelled to the Italian cities of Bari, Bergamo, Brescia, Cremona, Milan, Naples, Prato, Rome, Siena, Teramo and Trieste, reaching millions of people and involving numerous local actors, including Universities and Chambers of Commerce.
In 2024, during the G7 Development Ministers’ Meeting (22-24 October 2024), the #InsiemepergliSDG campaign made a stop in Pescara from 22 to 27 October 2024 with a series of activities and events dedicated to the UN Sustainable Development Goals implemented in collaboration with the Municipality of Pescara and the University of Pescara. The installation was visited by the members of the G7 at the end of their walk in the centre of the Abruzzo capital, and an event dedicated to ‘Sport for Sustainable Development’ was held with the participation of Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani, Italian Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, and the two athletes Letsile Tebogo and Lorenzo Simonelli.
