These were the main items on the agenda of Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Benedetto Della Vedova’s visit to Prague.

Della Vedova held institutional meetings with Czech Secretary of State for European Affairs Tomas Prouza and with his counterparts at the foreign ministry charged with European, political and economic affairs. The under-secretary delivered the opening speech for a seminar entitled “Italy and Europe after the Italian EU Presidency. Economic prospects for the Czech Republic” whose participants included representatives of a large number of Italian and local firms along with the Czech Ministry of Economic Development and the presidents of the South Moravian and Moravian-Silesian Regions.
Immigration, growth, unemployment and international crises
The meeting was one strongly promoted by Ambassador Aldo Amati in an effort to widen the sphere of business interest in a Central European country that boasts a high index of stability and development. The embassy itself hosted the opening of a workshop on innovative technologies in which approximately 30 Italian firms participated with their Czech counterparts.
A meeting with the management council of the Italo-Czech Chamber of Commerce and a series of institutional contacts with the foreign ministry followed, in which particular attention went to themes that touch on Europe such as immigration, growth, unemployment and international concerns such as Ukraine, Daesh, Libya and the Middle East.
