Gentiloni on a mission to Sao Paulo and Brasilia

Three days of meetings at highest institutional and government levels to strengthen economic and trade relations.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Paolo Gentiloni is on a mission to Sao Paulo and Brasilia, where he will be meeting with, in addition to his counterpart Mauro Vieira, other high-level institutional figures and government ministers with a view to strengthening bilateral political, economic and trade relations.  Accompanied by a large delegation of top representatives of Italian business groups and firms already operating in that South American country or interested in accessing the vast Brazilian market, the minister intends to present Brazilian investors with an Italy once again registering growth having made reforms and considerable efforts to attract capital and also become a productive base for foreign countries present on the European market.

Indeed, this mission is aimed at identifying new opportunities for System Italy in a series of key sectors such as agro-alimentary, textiles, infrastructure, energy, defence and space. Brazil currently hosts approximately 900 Italian branch offices and factories, with the resulting beneficial effect on local employment. The minister is scheduled to meet in Sao Paulo with Brasilia with the members of the Industrialists Federation of the State of Sao Paulo, but there will also be room for a presentation of the 21st International Exposition of the Triennale di Milano.
