The event, which will be open by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) Paolo Gentiloni and by Deputy Foreign Minister Mario Giro, will be attended by Giampaolo Cantini, Director General of MAECI’s Development Cooperation Directorate, Laura Frigenti, Director of the Italian Development Cooperation Agency and Bernardo Bini Smaghi, Director of Business Development of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.

Italy’s Development Cooperation was recently submitted to an important reform process which set forth a new institutional architecture aimed at making it more efficient and at increasing coherence between Development Cooperation policies. The new system will be guided by policies developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and provides for the establishment of a Development Cooperation Agency to oversee policy implementation, and innovative forms of public-private partnerships in the development sector, to be put in place also thanks to the support of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
