Minister Gentiloni and Minister Giannini will be awarding the “Rita Levi Montalcini Prize for Scientific Cooperation between Italy and Israel” at the Farnesina.

The Farnesina today hosts the first Ceremony to award the “Rita Levi Montalcini Prize for Scientific Cooperation between Italy and Israel”. The Ceremony will be officiated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), Mr Paolo Gentiloni, and the Minister of Education, University and Research (MIUR), Ms Stefania Giannini.

The Prize, which is promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the CRUI Foundation for Italian Universities in partnership with the Ministry of Education, University and Research, aims to strengthen scientific cooperation between Italy and Israel.  

The prestigious Prize will be received by Prof Itamar Procaccia of Israel’s Weizmann Institute of Science, who will be spending a period at La Sapienza University of Rome teaching and investigating for a scientific research project to be implemented in cooperation with a group of Italian researchers led by Prof Giorgio Parisi, an eminent Italian physicist of international renown.
