Integrated Promotion – “How much Italian economic diplomacy is worth”

Today, Rome’s Confindustria hosted the conference “How much Italian economic diplomacy is worth – The economic impact of the support of the Farnesina to Italian enterprises”, which was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano.

“The research study we assigned to Promoteia reported a truly positive impact on the support and assistance that diplomacy has offered enterprises, which generate direct benefits to the national economy.” These are Minister Alfano’s words on the outcome of the Prometeia analysis, focusing especially on the international tenders won by Italian firms and on the other contracts reached abroad in 2014-2015, which have been strongly supported by economic diplomacy.

“This outcome proves the effectiveness of the support ensured by the diplomatic-consular network in favour of our enterprises, for an integrated promotion of the ‘Italia Brand’ across the world,” underlined Minister Alfano.

“This analysis highlights that such actions have been beneficial not only for the companies getting contracts (public or private), but also for the entire national economy, with indirect effects and spin-offs, quantifiable by means of specific multipliers,” added the Minister.

Vincenzo Boccia, President of Confindustria, opened the event, which was also attended by Angelo Tantazzi, President of Prometeia, Alessandra Lanza, partner of Prometeia, Licia Mattioli, Vice-President of the Internationalisation sector of Confindustria,  Vincenzo de Luca, Director General for the Cultural and Economic Promotion  and Innovation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Francesco De Bettin, President of DBA Group, Vito Pertosa, President of Mermec,  and Cesare Trevisani, Vice- President of  Gruppo Trevi.
