Minister Alfano in Vienna

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, is in Vienna to attend the 23rd OSCE Ministerial Council, hosted at the Imperial Palace of Hofburg.

The Minister’s visit in Vienna will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Mr Alfano’s attendance at the working lunch with his colleagues of the OSCE Participating States dedicated to the theme: “Responding to global challenges in the OSCE area”.

At 2:45 p.m., the chief Italian diplomat will have a bilateral meeting with the Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Sebastian Kurz, also in view of the handover of the Organisation’s Presidency, to be held by Italy from 1 January 2018.

The Ministerial Council meeting will open at 3:15 p.m. Minister Alfano is scheduled to speak between 3:15 and 4:15 p.m. The whole session will be broadcast in live streaming on the website: http://www.osce.org/oscemc17  

From 5 to 7 p.m. the Italian Foreign Minister will be engaged in a number of meetings on the sidelines of the Council, especially with his counterpart from Kazakhstan, Kairat Abdrakhmanov, from Kyrgyzstan, Erlan Abdyldaev, from Montenegro, Srđan Darmanović, and with the Acting President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, George Tsereteli.
