“My story continues…”, collective writing attempts

A meeting was held on 17 October at the Italian Cultural Institute in Berlin to present the online collective writing project “Continua la mia storia…”, [My story continues], marking the 18th edition of the Italian Language in the World. The event was held in association with the Berlin Committee of the Dante Alighieri Society and Berlino Magazine.

Starting from a core idea written by Cesare De Marchi (Campiello and Comisso literary prizes 1998), the title “Continua la mia storia…” explains how participants will add to and expand on the story with their own contributions, adding new details, places, characters and potentially intertwining events. It will be published on an online platform.

The project aims to use the Internet to interweave ideas and characters of those who live in Germany into a single story, using Italian as a European language.

The project is part of a bigger project promoted by the Berlin Italian Cultural Institute on the importance of the Italian language in Germany, which is a language linked to trade and the economy, to holidays, to a large emigrant community, and to culture.
