Lisbon, Week of italian cuisine pays a tribut to Rossini

In an event dedicated to Gioachino Rossini, the Italian Embassy in Lisbon opened the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, which envisages a programme of tastings, debates, workshops and masterclasses on the tastes and local products of our peninsula. In order to highlight the excellence of Made-in-Italy agri-food products, the Embassy united the Italian Cultural Institute, the Chamber of Commerce and the ASCIP Dante Alighieri Association in organising numerous events throughout the Country, from North to South, under the logo “Italy in Portugal”.

Following a concert of Rossini’s arias, the inauguration event of the Week of Italian Cuisine continued with a tasting prepared by two outstanding Italian chefs: Pasquale Laera, a graduate of the ALMA International School of Italian Cuisine and chef at the Restaurant Il Boscareto –Resort & SPA in Serralunga d’ALBA, and Luca Salvadori from the Restaurant Il Covo in Lisbon.  Chef Laera will also be available to deliver a lesson to the Master course students of the Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies on different pasta formats and on the preparation of a traditional dish: spaghetti with bottarga and hazelnuts.
