Italy has 129 embassies in the world, many of which represent our country in geographically distant and, for various aspects, little-known contexts. “Avamposti”, the new podcast series produced in collaboration with the AGI news agency, has selected some of them to describe their different facets and also analyse them in the light of their relations with the Italian culture. Thanks to the contribution of the diplomatic network and the voices of Italians who, for professional or personal reasons, have had the opportunity to thoroughly examine their customs and traditions, the profiles of these places will become clearer and more understandable. A journey around the world in 6 stages leading to 6 different destinations. From geopolitics to history, through entrepreneurship and cuisine: the many faces of these countries are observed through the eyes of our Italian nationals who have first-hand experience with them.
The final chapter takes us to the other side of the world: Australia. The opportunities offered by the Working Holiday Visa, a dynamic labour market and wild nature make it a particularly popular destination for young Italians, who join the community of compatriots historically rooted in Australian cities.
Speakers: Paolo Crudele (Italian Ambassador in Canberra); Paola Magni (forensic entomologist); Francesca De Nobili and Federico Palisca (“yourwildside”); Andrea Comastri (Director of Hotel Etico in Sydney); Rachele Grassi (Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce in Sydney); Francesco Rota (“Emilia” restaurant); Paolo Stracchi (University of Sydney).
