The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation welcomes the decision by the Indian Supreme Court to annul the life sentence issued against Tomaso Bruno and Elisabetta Boncompagni, who have been in prison in Varanasi since 2010.
The Farnesina has been following the case closely, both directly and through the Italian Embassy in New Delhi. The Ministry has maintained constant dialogue and collaboration with the Indian authorities and with the families of the two Italian nationals involved.
