The Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Benedetto Della Vedova, is in Luxembourg today to take part in the European Union’s Foreign Affairs (Development) Council meeting. This evening and tomorrow, 27 October 2015, he will be visiting Budapest for talks with his Hungarian counterpart, Deputy Foreign Minister László Szabó, and representatives of the political and civil society communities.
Della Vedova will also be meeting members of the Italian business community in Hungary.
The topics for discussion include economic issues of mutual interest, especially regarding the agri-food, energy, financial and defence sectors. Under-Secretary Della Vedova and his Hungarian interlocutors will also discuss the fight against international terrorism and the crisis situations in Syria, Iraq and Ukraine, and the outlook for the enlargement of the European Union to include the western Balkans.
