Allow me to congratulate you and wish you all possible success as the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
The friendship and cooperation between Brazil and Italy are the cornerstones of our bilateral relations. The presence of millions of Brazilians of Italian origin is a salient trait in the historic ties between our two Countries, and the important investment in production made by Italy in your Country, also recently, confirm the vivacity our our closely-knit bonds.
Moreover, I believe that shared positions on issues such as upholding democratic values, respecting human rights, a fair distribution of resources and promoting innovative energy policies, must encourage us to seek ever-tighter convergences and cooperation within the multilateral forums to which Italy and Brazil both belong.
