Minister Alfano meets with the Argentinian Foreign Minister, Susana Malcorra

“The fact that over 40% of the Argentinian population is of Italian descent creates a particularly intense relationship with our Country, that stretches to all areas of activity: political, economic, cultural and academic. The swearing in of President Macri opened an intense season of bilateral visits at very high level,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, at the end of the meeting he had at the Farnesina with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Argentina, Susana Malcorra.

The talks focused on the excellence of bilateral relations, especially in the political and economic field, with a special focus on the prospects for Italian companies following the reforms enacted by the Macri-led Government. The two ministers also exchanged opinions on the current crisis in Venezuela and on the importance of finalising the EU- MERCOSUR Agreement.

At the end of the meeting, they closed the 3rd meeting of the Italy-Argentina Bilateral Mixed Commission by signing the final minutes of the meeting.
