Following the escalating violence that is affecting the Tripoli area, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Emanuela Del Re, has decided to intensify the humanitarian action of the Italian Cooperation in Libya, through two financial contributions totaling 1,000.000 euros in favor of the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross. The Italian aid responds to specific appeals launched by the two organizations, and aims at strengthening humanitarian assistance, especially in the health sector, to the civilian population affected by the conflict. This initiative is part of the action carried out by the Italian Government to favor a rapid cessation of hostility, the return to dialogue and the search for a political solution to the Libyan crisis.
