The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in agreement with the Ministry of Interior, has provided funding from the Migration Fund in support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Tunisia, to offer the possibility of assisted voluntary return to migrants stranded in Tunisia, with similar support services for reintegration in the countries of origin.
Given the global negative consequences of the coronavirus epidemic, it is essential to allow migrants who are in difficult circumstances (e.g. because they have lost their jobs) to return home voluntarily in safe and dignified conditions, preventing the risk of relying on human traffickers.
