Today a Conference organized by Confindustria Toscana and the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Guatemala (CAMCIG) dedicated to deepening the Italian-Guatemalan economic and commercial partnership took place in Florence. Undersecretary of State Giorgio Silli participated on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The event was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy of Guatemala, also responsible for Integration and Foreign Trade, Héctor José Marroquín, accompanied by a delegation of companies specialized in the digital sector.
The Undersecretary recalled that the Foreign Ministry has always been strongly committed to supporting and protecting our economic system abroad in the wake of the growth diplomacy desired by Minister Tajani. These efforts are even more important in the current phase of energy and technological transition and geopolitical instability, in which the importance of Italy’s partners, such as Guatemala, is enriched with new potential for collaboration, especially in the technological field, and investment in strategic sectors.
The Undersecretary said “The event has reaffirmed the priority that Italy attributes to relations with Latin America, in which trade and investment flows play an absolutely important role. We will also discuss these issues on 7 October in Rome on the occasion of the 12th “Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference”.
