Accreditation Notice: – A (Bio)-Diverse World (Milan, 6 May 2015)

On Wednesday 6 May 2015 the first of the EXPO Milan 2015 events promoted by the Directorate General for Development Cooperation at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will take place. The venue is the Cascina Triulza Auditorium.

“A (Bio)-Diverse World: agri-biodiversity in a changing world” is the title of the initiative, organised in collaboration with the National Research Council (CNR), the UN’s Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), Biodiversity International and the Centre International de Hautes Etudes Agronomiques Méditerranéennes–Istituto Agronomico Mediterraneo di Bari (CIHEAM-IAMB). Participants will discuss the interaction of factors influencing changes in agri-biodiversity and the complexity of relationships between the various disciplines studying the topic. The variety and the transformation processes involved in the products we eat are influenced by numerous technical, economic and social factors. But consumers do not always have a direct perception of these factors and are not always able to fully understand the ethical implications of their choices on the availability of global food resources.

The event will be divided into two sessions, one dedicated to the factors acting on agri-biodiversity and one examining the relationship between human beings and biodiversity. Participants will include representatives of the CNR, the international organisations, the academic community and civil society.

Media representatives interested in taking part should, as soon as possible, follow the accreditation procedure found through this link: https://accreditation.expo2015.org/mediahome.aspx?lang=IT
