ACCREDITATION NOTICE – “Nexus: Food, Water and Energy” (Milan, Cascina Triulza, 21 May 2015)

The event “Nexus: Food, Water and Energy”, promoted by the Foreign Ministry’s Directorate General for Development Cooperation will take place on Thursday 21 May 2015 at 10:30 in Milan at the Auditorium of Cascina Triulza.

The event has been organised in collaboration with the National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA) and the “Wame & Expo 2015” Association, with the participation of the Ministry of the Environment, European Commission, FAO, WFP, IFAD, UNEP and UNIDO. Its intention is to underscore social responsibility in business as a driving force behind public/private partnerships, calling upon sector businesses to pledge their commitment.

Two debate scientific-academic sessions will be dedicated to the most recent achievements at international level in terms of the interdependence between food, water and energy and the efficient use of natural resources. Analysed will be the ways in which international cooperation can set new sustainable development objectives to foster the resilience of systems suffering from scarce and limited natural resources. The group of experts will discuss how water, energy and food products influence economic growth and how trade in them can accompany and inform negotiations on the post-2015 Agenda and the formulation of new sustainable development goals.

There will also be an examination of the various aspects of the role of science, technology and innovation in development projects: technology transfers, adaptation of new and innovative technologies to local contexts, the creation of research networks and partnerships and knowledge exchanges.

Press interested in covering the event are asked to complete the accreditation procedure found at the link https://accreditation.expo2015.org/mediahome.aspx?lang=IT
