Presentation of the new Italian Development Cooperation System (Farnesina, 27 July 2016)

On Wednesday 27 July at  10:00 am, the Farnesina will host the presentation of the new Italian Cooperation Development System.Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloniand Deputy Minister Mario Giro will open the meeting. Giampaolo Cantini,  Director General of the Foreign  Ministry’s Development Cooperation, Laura Frigenti, Director of the Italian Development Cooperation Agency and  Bernardo Bini Smaghi, Director of Business Development at  Cassa Depositi e Prestiti will attend. The reform of the Italian Development Cooperation has led to a new institutional framework designed to make it more effective and Cooperation policies more consistent. Under the new system, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is seen to give guidance in the definition of cooperation policies, while the  Italian Development Cooperation Agency, established following the reform, is in charge of implementing policies. New innovative public-private development mechanisms are expected to be set up thanks also to the help of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
Deputy Minister Mario Giro will conclude the meeting.

Accredited journalists, photographers and TV crews should enter the Farnesina from the main entrance, left-hand side at 9:30 am.
