Kenya to become oil producer/exprter with Tullow Oil
In its latest midterm report, the British company Tullow Oil PLC announced the results of drilling in northern Kenya near Lake Turkana, where it appears that the Etuko deposit contains 300 million barrels of crude oil – findings that will make Kenya a member, for the first time, of the world oil and gas producers’ club.

Mozambique: ENI pays 4.2 billion USD to Maputo’s tax authorities
An agreement with the Mozambican tax authorities was announced regarding an operation in March by which ENI ceded 28.57% in ENI East Africa to the China National Petroleum Corporation. The agreement concerned a payment of 4.2 billion USD to be made by 23 August.
