According to the recent data published by Statistics Norway, in 2013 Italian exports to that country rose by 10.55% over 2012, with a market share of 3% (2.6% in 2011) Our exports have increased by more than twice the EU average (+4.4%).
The front-runners are agri-alimentary products (+10.1% over 2012), beverages (+8.3%) on the coattails of our strong leadership in the wine sector, machinery (oil & gas sector) and transport vehicles (+13.9%).
Italy’s imports from Norway remained stable, with a consequent large reduction (-22.79%) in a bilateral trade balance (equal 685 million euro) that is traditionally negative for Italy as a result of the size of Italian oil & gas imports which, in 2013, were on the order of 2.1 billion euro. Excluding oil & gas, Italy has a trade surplus with Norway equal to 1.4 billion euro (+9.6% over 2012).
