Beijing – The roadshow to promote La Triennale di Milano kicks off

The roadshow promoting the 21st  Triennale di Milano has kicked off in Beijing. It is organised by the Italian Embassy together with the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) and the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). The mission to China’s main cities aims to present design as a driver of new economies, logistical innovations and of new individual and collective services in the era of globalisation. “Milan will become the world capital of design in the coming months and, as with Expo 2015, the focus of cooperation between Italy and China, countries that share the ambitious goal of combining tradition and the quest for beauty with technological innovation,” commented Italian ambassador, Ettore Sequi in his speech.

The most important initiative promoting the 21st Triennale di Milano organised outside of Italy

The event – which will be followed by stops in Chongqing, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Shanghai – included the presence of Andrea Cancellato, Director General of the Trienniale, who commented: “The roadshow in China is the most important initiative preparing for the 21st Triennale di Milano organised outside of Italy, an initiative that will visit five cities. We expect significant Chinese participation, something that makes us very proud.” From Apr. 2 to Sept. 12, 2016, Milan will host the 21st edition of the Exhibition entitled “21st Century. Design After Design”. The main themes of the event will be the dissemination of design skills in various countries around the world and the development of a global market; the increasingly transversal nature of design and the weakening of the disciplinary boundaries between design, architecture, communications, landscape and visual arts; and the new relationships between different professional skills.
