On the opening day of MED Dialogues 2019, Minister Di Maio had a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Palestine, Riyad Malki; Egypt, Sameh Shoukry; Libya, Mohammed Taher Siyala; Lebanon, Gebran Bassil and Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
The Minister also attended the Area Meeting of Italian Ambassadors in the Mediterranean Countries and in the Middle East and received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Arab League, Enas Mekkawy.
The first day of MED Dialogues 2019 also offered the opportunity for the Minister to meet with the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, with whom he held a joint Press Conference.
