The Italian Cuisine Week in Thailand confirmed the success of Italy’s culinary tradition in a Country that, by no coincidence, will soon host the first office abroad of the International Culinary School ALMA of Parma, in Bangkok.
The numerous initiatives organised were attended by a public who showed great interest for Italian products of excellence. The figures of the events organised by the Embassy in partnership with the other actors of Italian Institutions confirm this success: more than 50 chefs and restaurant owners were present at the award ceremony organised by the Italian-Thai Chamber of Commerce for the restaurants that obtained the “Italian Hospitality” trademark of the namesake programme; 20 among the best Italian restaurants which, throughout the whole week, offered a dish or a menu based on the theme of the Week; more than 100 Italian winemakers met with over 2,000 professionals of the sector; approximately 150 spectators attended the “Piano à la carte” concert by the Roman DeAntoni-Ferrandino piano duo.
Lastly, two prestigious names of international renown gave extra lustre to the Italian Cuisine Week in Thailand: James Suckling, an internationally known wine expert, and the Michelin star-winning Chef Martina Caruso, the winner of the ‘Michelin Female Chef Award 2019’, presented a menu entitled ‘Sicilian Journey’, with a clearly regional inspiration.
