Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mario Giro expressed the Italian government’s deep satisfaction with the Venezuelan judiciary authorities’ concession of home arrest to Enzo Scarano. “We have made repeated requests for house arrest”, the under-secretary said, “and we now express our thanks to the Caracas Supreme Court of Justice”. Italy continues to monitor the cases of Italian nationals Scarano, Lucchese and Baduel (the latter two still being held in prison) closely, Giro confirmed.
