“The defeat of Da’esh at Ramadi is an important success by the Iraqi military forces and the international coalition. It is further confirmation that Iraq is on the right road in the battle to eradicate the so-called ‘Islamic State’”. This was the comment by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni.
“This important result is a tangible demonstration of the value of the military and of the Iraqi people and of the fruitful collaboration between Iraq and the member countries of the anti-Da’esh coalition, in which Italy plays a leading and greatly appreciated role”, continued Gentiloni.
“Italy will continue to support the Iraqi government until it has restored peace and security in the country”, concluded Minister Gentiloni.
