“I wish Aboul Gheit my very best in his new appointment as Secretary General of the Arab League, assuring him that he can count on Italy’s full cooperation in managing the many interests we have in common,” Minister Gentiloni said, expressing his satisfaction at the appointment of the former Egyptian Foreign Minister. Minister Gentiloni emphasised the key role that the Arab League can play in rebalancing and stabilising the relations between Arab States as well as in the Mediterranean region and in the Middle East.
