Humanitarian aid by the Italian Cooperation Service in the Lake Chad region

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Del Re, authorised a package of emergency contributions worth 8.4 million euros to tackle the food and humanitarian crisis in the Lake Chad region (Niger, Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon). These funds will be used towards initiatives to help local people in the areas of food security, healthcare, access to water and rural development. A humanitarian flight was also arranged with the Air Force. It landed with medicine supplies and healthcare kits donated by the Italian Cooperation Service to address the ongoing healthcare crises in the country.
