On the sidelines of her participation in the ICPD25 summit in Nairobi, Deputy Minister Emanuela Del Re had two bilateral meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Monica Juma and with Treasury Minister, Ukur Yatani Kanacho.
The talks centered on the circumstances of compatriot Silvia Romano’s kidnapping in Kenya last year. The meeting made it possible to exploit the strong cooperation at the operational level between the two Countries for a positive solution to the matter. Minister Juma reiterated Kenya’s strong commitment in this regard, also in the national interest of her Country, both at the investigative and judicial levels.
The meetings were an opportunity to review the state of bilateral relations. It was agreed to focus in particular on strengthening trade relations and on jointly engaging in the fight against terrorism.
The Deputy Minister finally visited the “Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital” that was built as part of the projects implemented by the Italian NGO called World Friends with the contribution of Italian Cooperation. This was an opportunity for the Deputy Minister to meet with the representatives of Italian NGOs operating in the country, which provided an overview of the projects underway in the Country.
