The Secretary General of the Farnesina, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi, met today at the Farnesina with the State Secretary of Germany’s Federal Foreign Office, Ambassador Andreas Michaelis, with whom he held consultations on major bilateral, European and international issues.
During the meeting, Ambassador Sequi and Ambassador Michaelis discussed the Action Plan for an enhanced cooperation between Italy and Germany.
Ambassador Sequi and Ambassador Michaelis also discussed the latest developments of the war in Ukraine and its consequences, in terms of food security too. In this context, they also discussed the process of Finland and Sweden joining the Atlantic Alliance and the revision of NATO’s strategic concept.
Finally, the Secretary General of the Farnesina and the German State Secretary discussed the evolution of the situation in Libya, the developments in the Sahel, China’s stance in the current international scenario and the reform of the Stability and Growth Pact, a key element in advancing the European agenda.
