The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Ettore Francesco Sequi, has received the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Rashad Aslanov. This was the first official meeting between the Secretary General and Ambassador Aslanov, who presented his letters of credence to the President of the Italian Republic on 12 January.
During the meeting, the two Ambassadors spoke of the excellent state of relations between Italy and Azerbaijan and their strategic nature in many areas. Ambassador Sequi and Ambassador Aslanov also exchanged views on the situation in the Caucasus region.
