The Farnesina Collection is now online!
Thanks to the collaboration between the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Google Arts & Culture, everyone—free of charge, anytime, and from anywhere—can explore the contemporary Italian artworks that make up the Farnesina Collection.
The digitisation project, launched in 2016, now allows users to browse over 400 pieces of content, including photographs and detailed descriptions of artworks, new acquisitions, decorations of the Farnesina Palace, and Italian Cultural Institutes.
Using Street View technology, visitors can enjoy 10 virtual tours through different areas of the Palace, including the first floor and the main corridors of the ground and second floors.
Additionally, 16 thematic insights are available, covering the history of the Palace and the major artistic movements represented in the Collection. Users can also explore a digital comic by Italian illustrator Alessandro Baronciani and interactive exhibitions using Pocket Gallery technology.
