The Farnesina Collection will participate in the fifth edition of Roma Arte in Nuvola – International Fair of Modern and Contemporary Art with a selection of six photographs: one by Tommaso Fiscaletti, four by Mimmo Jodice, and one by Mustafa Sabbagh. The photographs are part of the group exhibition “Impossible Images”, curated by Arianna Catania, which also features a significant new acquisition by the Farnesina Collection: La sequenza (1971) by Fausto Melotti, displayed in the foyer to welcome visitors.

Melotti designed the sketch for “La sequenza” in 1971. The original version stands in the gardens of Pirelli HangarBicocca, a donation from the Melotti Foundation. The newly acquired version in the Farnesina Collection is smaller in size but equally monumental.

The inauguration of “Impossible Images” will take place on 20 November, and the exhibition will remain open until 23 November at the Roma Convention Center – La Nuvola. Alongside the Farnesina Collection artists, the exhibition includes works by Adrian Paci, Giorgio Di Noto, Teresa Giannico, and Giorgia Severi. The theme of “Impossible Images” explores pushing the boundaries of the visible, reflecting on the photographic medium and its expressive potential.

As part of the Year of Cultural Exchanges Korea–Italy 2024–2025, established to celebrate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Italy, the Republic of Korea is the Guest of Honour at Roma Arte in Nuvola.

Roma Arte in Nuvola was conceived and organised by Alessandro Nicosia, under the artistic direction of Adriana Polveroni, and is promoted by EUR S.p.A.. The event benefits from the active support of the Ministry of Culture, Rome City Council, and the Lazio Region, and from the patronage of the Dicastery for Evangelisation of the Vatican City. It is organised and produced by C.O.R. – Creare Organizzare Realizzare con Costruire Cultura.
