In the presence of their colleagues from the the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Farnesina), the diplomas were awarded to eight Burkinabe diplomats who, from 17 to 21 February, attended the Master in Geopolitics and International Relations at the SIOI in Rome.
The intense training program ranged from international law to the international protection of human rights, with a “special focus” on geopolitics and the analysis of international relations. The diplomats also attended “practical diplomacy” seminars on intercultural communication and international negotiations. The aim of the project is to contribute to the formation of an articulated and versatile “international diplomat” who can support the strengthening of democratic ownership of his country.
The activity, contributing to the training of senior civil servants by providing them with specialized know-how, is part of the many initiatives of the Farnesina aimed at promoting and intensifying bilateral relations with the countries of the Sahel area, as part of a multidimensional and integrated strategy to strengthen security and support peace and stabilisation processes in the region.
