To make sure minors get at least a meal a day in Mali, where food safety has deteriorated following last year’s poor rainfall, the Italian Development Cooperation has allocated an emergency grant of 500 thousand Euros to the World Food Programme (WFP) to support school meals. The initiative, which is shared by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, also aims at increasing regular school attendance in a country where schooling rates are low, especially for girls. The World Food Program will be able to count with the support of Italian NGOs operating in the country, when organising the operation.
