The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, and the Armenian Foreign Minister, Edward Nalbandian, opened the working session of the first Bilateral Mixed Intergovernmental Commission pursuant to the economic cooperation agreement signed by Italy and Armenia on 23 November 2009.
The mixed Commission, which is aimed at boosting commercial cooperation and investments and analysing the market conditions in the two Countries, met on the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Italy and Armenia.
Armenian Foreign Minister Nalbandian leads a high-level delegation that also includes the Deputy Minsters of Foreign Affairs, Nazarian, of Agriculture, Harutanyan, of Transports and Communications, Khachaturyan, and of Culture, Samuelyan.
The Intergovernmental Commission meeting will be followed by a Country Presentation open to Italian companies interested in the Armenian market, with contributions by the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Benedetto della Vedova, and by Minister Nalbandian. The event will also include the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Foreign Trade Institute (ICE) and the Development Foundation of Armenia (DFA).
