After the works of Raphael, Bernini, Botticelli and Caravaggio, for the second time ever, the Embassy of Italy in Moscow is featuring the work of Giovanni Bellini, whose painting “Madonna of the Red Cherubim” will be displayed for one day only – today. The event falls within a tradition of exhibiting masterworks at Villa Berg, seat of the diplomatic mission located in the heart of the Russian capital, and is a prelude to the Thursday opening of the exhibition “Piero della Francesca and contemporaries. Marian images in Renaissance painting from the Museums of Italy” at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. Read more, in Italian.
