#MakingEurope2019

Involve youth in reflecting on what it means for them to be European today. This is the aim of the photographic contest launched by the Council of Europe to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its establishment (https://70.coe.int/photo-competition).

The competition is open until 30 April to anyone over 13 years of age and residing in one of the 47 member States of the Council of Europe. To participate, it is enough to upload on Instagram a photo with the hashtag #MakingEurope2019, tagged to the Council of Europe (@councilofeurope). The photographs will have to focus on one of the five topics indicated by the jury: persons, places, moments, challenges, black and white. The picture chosen as the winner of the competition and the ones chosen for each one of the categories, along with a selection of the best shots, will be displayed in a photographic exhibition in the seat of the Council. The winners will receive the prize at a celebration to be held in Strasburg in October 2019.

The Council of Europe was established in 1949 to uphold and promote human rights, the rule of law and democracy throughout the European continent. Thus, it plays a key role in promoting security and stability in Europe. Italy is one of the Council’s founding members and is its third-largest financial contributor.
