Today, on the sidelines of the 74th United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, met with his Moroccan counterpart, Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
The topics touched in the cordial talks included the regional challenges, starting with the Libyan crisis and the mutual commitment to combat religious extremism and terrorism. “I discussed with Minister Bourita the great opportunities offered to our two Countries through tighter economic and trade cooperation. The aim is to establish a strategic partnership between Italy and Morocco to jointly and periodically evaluate the possibilities of cooperating in many different areas as well as our common challenges,” said Minister Di Maio on commenting the meeting.
