The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation hosted a training day for the second group of young volunteers about to be deployed abroad within the framework of projects developed by the Civilian Peace Corps. The initiative, which took place today, was promoted by the Department for Youth Policies and the Universal Civil Service of the Prime Minister’s Office with a view to promoting solidarity and cooperation at the national and international level in areas where there is instability or environmental emergencies.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry, the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service, the Department of the Civil Protection and the Lazzaro Spallanzani National Institute for Infectious Diseases.The young volunteers had an opportunity to engage in a useful debate on the local situations in their destination countries, their security profiles, rules of conduct as well as hygiene and sanitary norms with which they will have to comply in order to be part of this important experience in a responsible manner and fully aware of the challenges.
Upon arrival in the countries of destination, the volunteers will continue their training thanks to the support of the network of the Italian Embassies and Consulates that will organize meetings focused on specific local issues.
