Vice Minister’s Sereni visit to Senegal has just ended: “A partnership that also concerns young people and companies”.

Vice Minister Marina Sereni’s visit to Senegal has just ended.

In Dakar, the Vice Minister met with various Ministers of the Senegalese government and UN representatives for West Africa, with whom she discussed the main aspects of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and development spheres. In particular, the Vice-Minister met the Foreign Minister and – accompanied by representatives of Confindustria Assafrica and ANCE-  the Ministers of Economy, Finance and Energy. The meetings related to development cooperation with Senegal were particularly important.

The Vice Minister signed two agreements to fund educational projects and professional inclusion of young people and women for a value of 16 million euros. She also visited AICS projects aimed at boosting medical capacity and social assistance in the outskirts of Dakar. The visit also included meetings with Italian NGOs operating in Senegal and with Senegalese civil society associations committed to the defence of women’s rights.

The Vice Minister said: “The rich partnership between Italy and Senegal concerns not only our two Governments, but also companies and young people, and aims to promote increasing opportunities to create wealth and development between our two countries.”
