Indonesia: Italians missing: search expanded

Minister for Foreign Affairs Paolo Gentiloni was pleased to receive the news of the Indonesian government’s decision to extend search operations through Tuesday 25 August for Italian nationals Daniele Buresta, Michela Caresani and Alberto Mastrogiuseppe, missing following a scuba trip near the island of Sangalaki, in Indonesia.

In cases of this sort, Indonesia normally provides for search operations of a maximum seven days. In the case the Italians that would mean interrupting the search tomorrow.

Minister Gentiloni commended the Indonesian authorities for this decision to meet the request advanced by the Farnesina and in consideration of the hopes of the persons’ families.
