Rolando Del Torchio, an Italian citizen kidnapped in the City of Dipolog, in the Philippines, in October 2015, was released today and is temporarily in the custody of the Philippine Authorities which found him in the Sulu Archipelago.
The Italian Embassy in Manila and the Crisis Unit of the Italian Foreign Ministry have remained active throughout the incident while keeping in contact with the victim’s family in Italy and will provide the necessary assistance in the post-release phase.
The Foreign Ministry expresses its gratitude to the Manila Authorities for their excellent cooperation and performance, which led to the release of the Italian national.
