The arrest of Cesare Battisti

Referring to the arrest of Cesare Battisti, a terrorist convicted on several charges of murder, in Bolivia last night (CET time), the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, “thanked all those who helped to achieve this result. It is an act of justice for the heinous crime of terrorism owed to those killed or injured and their families.”

The result is the outcome of a concerted and resolute action by Bolivian and Brazilian Authorities which cooperated with all the competent Italian Authorities, including our diplomatic missions in their Countries. The Minister confirmed that efforts persist to accelerate his extradition to Italy as much as possible and added that “right now, our heartfelt thoughts go to all the victims of terrorism, including those of today’s international terrorism, which continues to hit so many innocent people today.”
