Minister Moavero holds a telephone conversation with Bolivia’s Foreign Minister

In a telephone call last night, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, thanked the Foreign Minister of Bolivia, Diego Pary, “for the effective and diligent collaboration assured by the Bolivian Authorities by arresting and promptly expelling to Italy Cesare Battisti, a terrorist convicted on several charges of murder.”

He added: “Bolivia’s efforts commendably interacted with the equally essential efforts by the Brazilian Authorities, whom we thank heartfeltly. Theirs was a tangible action at the service of justice; a concerted and joint action carried out with determination and reserve, in a close cooperative effort based on mutual trust and collaboration with all the competent Italian Authorities, including our Embassies in Brasilia and La Paz.”
